Hey,
Today I wanted to talk to you about how I stretch my hair without heat. Whenever I'm stretching my hair its usually because I'm going to be doing mini twists or a stretched twist out. 1. I personally always start on freshly washed hair, and separate my hair into 2 or 3 sections depending on how I feel. When sectioning is done I apply a leave in conditioner. 2. Once my hair is moisturized I take one section and detangle with my paddle brush. I then grab the entire section a put my hair into a ponytail. I keep adding hair ties until all of my hair is banded, I also run the brush through my hair occasionally just so that it stays smooth. I repeat this entire process until my whole head is done and then I let it air dry for about 6 hours. Tip: The more hair ties that you add the more stretched your hair will be. Once my hair is completely dry I take out the hair ties, moisturize my hair with my Bare Your Hair ButterCream and then I style as desired. Hope this helped! Bare Your Hair

Whether you are transitioning, or already natural lots of people struggle with figuring out when to trim their ends.
There are 3 things that I look for, and keep in my whenever I am deciding if I need a trim or not. Throughout this blog post I am going to be using two different terms, dusting and trimming. Dusting- lightly snipping bad ends, this can be 1/2 inch to a full inch. Trimming- Done once a year (my preference), purging all of my bad ends usually 2-3 inches or more. 1. The appearance of my ends. If I am doing my hair and I can noticeably see my ends getting straggly or splitting, then that is when I will go in and give myself a light dusting. 2. That time of the year. I only trim my hair once a year and that is in December. So once it gets around that time then I know that its definitely time for a good trim. Most people will straighten their hair 2-3 times a year, but it is just your preference as to what you want to do and what your ends are looking like. 3. When doing my hair, I pretty much know the ending result every time. Whether I am doing twist outs or wash and gos I know that my hair is always going to curl and have sometime of definition. Whenever I notice my results not coming out as defined, or my ends getting super dry, then I know that it is time for a trim. Depending on how bad they are I will either do a light dusting or do a full trim. As you learn more about your hair, deciding when to trim will become more apparent. Bare Your Hair Hey Guys,
Today I just wanted to give you 3 quick and easy hair growth tips, for people who don`t have much time, or patience. 1. Trim Your Ends- This is important because keeping those dead ends will only hinder your hair growth. Once your ends have split, the split will eventually run up the hair shaft causing more split ends and breakage resulting in hair loss. If you want to know more about when to trim your ends, I recently did a blog post all about it, that you can check out here. 2. Moisturize Your Hair- I have done several posts on moisturizing your hair so I won`t go super deep in this post. This is the number one tip that I can give to anyone looking to grow their hair with long term health and benefits. Keeping your hair moisturized will prevent you from getting as many split ends, and breakage. I like to moisturize my hair every other day, if not everyday. To moisturize my hair I start off by spritzing a little water on my hair, apply my Bare Your Hair ButterCream, and then seal everything in with my Bare Your Hair Peppermint Oil. 3. Keep Your Hands Out Of Your Hair!- This was a big thing that I had to learn when growing my hair out. Keeping your hands in your hair will only cause frizz, breakage and a host of other problems. I recommend doing low manipulation styles or protective styles so that you are not unnecessarily messing in your hair through out the day. Regardless of what method you are using to grow your hair, you are going to need a little bit of patience, because nothing happens overnight! Bare Your Hair I recently came across a post on Instagram, asking if people had nighttime routines for their hair. This question made me think because lots of people don`t have a solid routine for their hair.
How to make the perfect nighttime routine. 1. Decide what you want to use to moisturize your hair. - Depending on the style that you have in, you need to decide what to use to moisturize your hair with, whether its something thick and creamy or just a light weight oil. 2. Lightly moisturize your hair. - Depending on how dry your hair is, will determine how you need to moisturize your hair. Start off by lightly misting your hair with water and then apply your moisturizer (cream, oil, etc) Your hair should not be soaking wet with product. 3. Put your hair into a style. -If your are wearing a twist out or braid out, after moisturizing your hair you may want to put your hair into 3-5 braids/twists to preserve your curls throughout the night. 4. Tie your hair up. -After you have completed the above steps, all that`s left to do is to tie your hair up. I normally just put a bonnet on but you can use whatever you like. Every night you should be doing this routine to your hair, to insure that it stays moisturized and defined. If you feel like your hair is already moisturized enough, then you don`t have to repeat steps 1-2 every night, just every other night. Bare Your Hair Hey Guys!
Today I just wanted to share with you some tips on how to properly detangle your hair without getting breakage. When I first went natural, I didn't know how to properly detangle my hair, I would just rake the comb through until all the tangles were gone and most of my hair was left in the comb or brush. Once I finally started taking the time to detangle my hair, my hair was so much more manageable, and I didn't have any breakage which resulted in hair loss. Detangling On Wet Hair- Most of the time I am detangling on wet hair, because I have just finished washing it, but you can do what ever works for you. I start off by sectioning my hair into about 4-8 sections, the more sections the quicker it is to detangle. Once that is sectioned off I apply some more water to my hair using my spray bottle, and then I go in with my deep conditioner, making sure that my hair is fully coated. Once coated I start to slowly finger detangle my hair, and when ever I come across lots of tangles or knots I add more water and more conditioner to help slip the tangles right out. Detangling On Dry Hair- When I am detangling on dry hair, I pretty much do the same thing. I make sure that the section of hair that I am working on is saturated with water and the I start to detangle. Normally I just use plain water, with nothing else on my dry hair, but if I notice it is a bit dryer then I will add some conditioner to it. Important Tips To Remember:
