When I noticed my first bald spot, it was in December and by June, my hair was completely gone.
However, in the mean time, I was working in Corporate America and I had to go to work! I have never been one to wear wigs or weaves and decorative headscarf's were not exactly acceptable in the work place.
1. I had to accept that my hair (lack thereof) was the way it was going to be. There was nothing immediately I could do-unless I wanted to wear a wig! In the very beginning-, I really did try to color it in with hair pencils- YEAH THAT DID NOT WORK!!!
2. Educate- so once, I educated myself- then I educated others. Of course most people will stare- I mean you’re have patches of hair- but more often than not- people will ask questions out of sheer curiosity.
3. Do not be offended- you can't get upset when people stare or ask you questions- this is where the self-love REALLY COMES IN!!
4. Wear it PROUD! Every day that I went out of my house- I reminded my self- I am beautiful, I am the same person, my hair doesn't make me any less of a woman.
I am posting a picture below-- of what my scalp looked like on any given day UNTIL I was completely bald.
REMEMBER TO LOVE YOURSELF FIRST- everything else will come...
